Tristan Grigsby

"My Eminence speakers are the last line in my sound arsenal. I need a speaker that works with my guitar tone and is responsive at every level without falsely coloring its voice. Eminence fuels my intensity!" -Tristan Grigsby There's no small way to begin to describe DaiTribe and Project: Storm guitarist Tristan '1690' Grigsby. Guitarist, performer, recording artist, writer, producer, and juggernaut addresses just the foundation. The Chicago native, known for his technique, tone, and high energy performances maintains a constant writing, recording and performing schedule. The years of studying acoustic and rhythm guitar unleashed a distinctive recognizable style. An undeniable stage presence first revealed itself through years of performing in clubs in and around Chicago and then later throughout the midwest. Co-founding bands like Rampage and Shaman, led to the development of what would lead to a formidable model and an early version of DaiTribe. "There is nothing like the assault of a finely tuned powerhouse unleashed with no apologies and no mercy!" Tristan has seemingly boundless energy and his guitar approach dominates and punishes. He enjoys the full force metal brutality of DaiTribe as well as the neo-progressive attitude of Project: Storm. His early career included clinics for companies such as Seymour Duncan and Morley and on stage appearances with PanterA, Anthrax, and Skid Row. Successful clinics led to the recording and release of "Seven Trials" in 1997 which became the cornerstone of a great new heavy guitar movement dubbed "shred banging" by Guitar World Magazine. Next came a feature in Guitar World magazine and a song on their CD "The Indie Bin". In 1998, Project: Storm began writing and recording their first release "The Reckoning". It includes guest performances by TM Stevens (Steve Vai/Pretenders), Bill 'the Buddha' Dickens, and Vernon Reid (Living Colour). DaiTribe released "The Second Coming" EP to radio. Initially intended for a brief promotional campaign, the release quickly became added and played around the world to radio programming play lists for the entire summer and into the fall. "STRATAGEM" raised the bar yet again while pushing the limits of the progressive meets metal line. Other benchmarks in his career include the single Intimidator which was a number one internet single, and inclusion in platinum home videos/DVDs by PanterA and Skid Row. Currently he is working on new material for release with both DaiTribe and Project: Storm, preparing to tour with both acts, and developing his signature line of amplifiers through Sydoma Amplification. Tristan can currently be heard on the 'Dimebag' Darrell memorial single "Leave it Alone" w/ Tim 'Ripper' Owens, David Ellefson, and Jason Bittner which was released via iTunes on True Gemini Records. All the proceeds from the sale of the song go to Little Kids Rock, in Darrell's name.
