Kent Demonbreun

Originally hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Kent Demonbreun has played upright & electric bass professionally for more than 20 years. Whether being a frontman for groups like Heavy Water and The Jazz Game, or anchoring the bottom end as a sideman for Jason Madaris, Jason Ricci, The Headstone Circus and The Mahalo Jazz Quartet, his style and sound have always come through loud & clear. Kent has been fortunate enough over the years to work writing and producing music for television and radio, as well as countless studio sessions with Ruffin Waller at Ruff Productions and Phil McArthur at Major Audio Creations. Kent has toured the world with several R&B, Rock & Reggae artists, has played Latin Jazz, Samba, Soca and Merengue on multiple continents, and has performed at major festivals in Europe, North and South America, and Africa. He has studied upright jazz bass with the incomparable Clarence Seay, worked on the finer points of improvisation with the amazing Dutch Guitarist Patrick Sedoc, and attempts to follow in the footsteps of all the great bassists that have come from Northern & Southern Virginia. Kent Demonbreun hopes to complete a CD So Far in mid-2009 as a composer and bandleader, and he is extremely proud to have Eminence assisting him in his efforts along the way.
