Karl Cochran

Karl has been a professional musician most of his life, taking formal guitar lessons at age eleven and playing professionally at age fourteen. He took guitar lessons from jazz guitar great, Harry Leahy, for many years, who pushed Karl to his limits and beyond in technique, style and method, and also showed him a shining example of work ethic and dedication to one’s craft.

He has been teaching guitar, bass, voice and music theory for over 25 years.

He worked with Wilde West Music for the series, “I’m In the Band” for Disney XD and Disney cable channels. Karl co-wrote the theme song for the show, along with several songs and spots for the first season.

Karl owns and operates his own professional recording studio, Voodooland Studios Inc., in which he recorded, engineered and performed all the guitars for Rage and Beyond’s “Corporate Nation.” He also recorded the entire Voodooland “Give Me Air” album there, as well as Joe Lynn Turner’s “Second Hand Life” album. He is constantly producing, engineering and recording clients in his studio.

Karl has played and toured with the likes of Ace Frehley, Joe Lynn Turner, Eric Singer Project, Nuclear Assault, Sebastian Bach, Stephen Pearcy and Dee Snider, among others.

Karl has written songs for many musical greats, such as “Into the Void” with Ace Frehley, which made it onto the KISS “Psycho Circus” album, and many of their following compilation cd’s and box sets.

In addition to working with Kevin Shirley, Ted Jensen and Neil Dorfsman on “Corporate Nation,” Karl has also worked with the likes of Bob Daisley, Corky Lang, Felix Pappalardi, Dave Whitman, Matt Abbs, Ricky Sebastian, and many others. Karl has also written songs for KISS, Joe Lynn Turner, as well as for television commercials
