Dave Widow

Dave Widow, originally from Cincinnati Ohio-and now living in LA, has been a staple on the LA music scene for over 20 years, performing at well known LA venues such as The House Of Blues, The Mint, The Lighthouse Cafe, and many others, occasionally performing across the US and abroad as far away as Hong Kong. Dave Widow and the Line Up-is an ever changing band of "like minded" musicians, who've respected and worked with Dave at different times and projects over the past 20 years. Dave's newest CD entitled "Waiting For The World To End", which title and subsequent title-song are a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Mayan Calendar ending in December 2012. The new Waiting for the World to EndCD is a compilation of Dave's original tunes-both written by Dave or co-written with several of his fellow line-up members...Some are brand-new songs that were conceived during the course of the recordings for the CD, and some areolder penned tunes, that are now only seeing the light of day...As is the case with his Bluesman a long polished tune that Dave worked on for several years before deciding it was just right! Along with Widow, the featured musicians on the CD are: Mike Finnigan on organ & piano(of Bonnie Raitt, CS&N, Dave Mason and many others) Gary Mallaber on drums(of Steve Miller, Van Morrison, Eddie Money, etc), Reggie McBride on bass(of Keb Mo', Etta James, Stevie Wonder, etc.,) David Morgan on piano(of The Nelson's, Ricky Nelson Band, etc.) Special guests on the new CD include Bill Champlin(formerly of the group "Chicago") who plays Hammond B3, second guitar, and background vocals on their collaboration "Second Hand Love", Barry Goldberg who plays piano on "Baby Wants To Rock"(of the Electric Flag), Marty Grebb who blows his horns on "Bluesman"(formerly of Bonnie Raitt, Chicago and others), Legendary R&B Drummer James Gadson(of Ray Charles, Bill Withers, Beck, The Temptations, and many many others) plays drums on "Piss You Off", Lorelei McBroom who sings Back-up on several of the songs on the CD(formerly toured as a back-up singer with The Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart. Dave is particularly proud and pleased to have collaborated and recorded with talented Musician/Singer/Songwriter Bill Champlin on their song "Second Hand Love"...Bill, who helped pen such hit songs as "Turn Your Love Around" for George Benson, and "After The Love Is Gone" for Earth Wind And Fire, was the forming member of the group "The Sons Of Champlin", and was also formerly with the group Chicago to name but a couple. Dave also collaborated with long-time friend and Musician/ Songwriter Larry Goshorn of the group "Pure Prairie League", who wrote such songs as "Two Lane Highway" and "Kentucky Moonshine". Dave's new CD "Waiting For The World To End" runs the gamut of the music spectrum from his weaving of Funky Blues, R&B, Roots music, Americana and Blues-Rock together in one CD...Dave shows his diversity in all his musical leanings on this CD! "Waiting For The World To End" is available on Dave's website www.davewidow.com, and CDbaby, Itunes, and Amazon.com, and is a must-have in every music lover's collection.
